Watching Picnic at Hanging Rock

I remember reading somewhere that Peter Weir, when he made Dead Poets Society, had left behind his spooky roots and had decided to pursue other interests. After watching Picnic, I don’t believe I agree.   Weir’s interests never changed–he just chose other genres to explore them.

I’m running on limited input a little here, too far removed from the last time I watched Fearless, The Truman Show or Master and Commander.  But those titles are on the short list as of tonight.  I’ll try and have a review up for Picnic soon.
