When Trailers Strike Gold – Part 1 Independence Day

Few trailers create as perfect a tease as this one: they came, they saw, and they blew up the White House.  And then we fought back.  It just sets the imagination atwitter. 

Could ID4 have been anything other than a big old B-movie?  Turning it into something other than comic book level pulp seems somehow wrong. Besides, serious films rarely display this much patriotism and chutzpah.
